What advanced courses are actually for
- Closing conceptual gaps, not adding features. By this point you can look up syntax. What you cannot look up is why the engine behaves as it does, which is the whole content of the Flerlage material.
- Buying two courses that overlap. The Maven advanced course and the Udemy advanced BI course cover much of the same ground. Buy one.
- Confusing exam preparation with advanced training. Tableau's official Exam Readiness product is priced around $1,000 and a large share of that is two exam vouchers. It is a certification purchase, not a learning one.

What are LOD expressions in Tableau?
Level of detail expressions let a calculation run at a different granularity from the view it sits in. FIXED ignores the view's dimensions, INCLUDE adds dimensions to the calculation, and EXCLUDE removes them.
They are the single concept that most often separates intermediate from advanced Tableau users, which is why several courses exist that teach nothing else.
How do I make a slow Tableau workbook faster?
Start with a performance recording to find whether the cost is in the query, the rendering or the calculations. Most slow workbooks are slow because of data shape, not chart count.
