How a course gets onto this site
Every course listed here has been worked through, not skimmed from a syllabus page. That is the reason this site lists nineteen courses rather than the hundred that a scraped roundup would carry.
- Does it build something. A course that ends with a finished workbook beats a course that ends with a certificate of completion. Project-based courses consistently outperform feature tours, and we weight them accordingly.
- Does it teach the engine. Anyone can teach the shelves. The gap between a competent analyst and a stuck one is understanding how Tableau computes: viz level of detail, table calculation addressing, and why a number changes between views.
- Is the pacing honest. Padded run-times are the norm on video platforms. Where a provider publishes an hours figure we report it, and where it is misleading we say so.
- What is wrong with it. Every course on this site carries a stated downside. A review with no criticism in it is marketing.
Money
We take no affiliate commission from any link on this site. Nothing here is ranked by what it pays, and no provider has paid for placement or been given sight of a review before publication. Outbound course links are marked nofollow.
We deliberately do not quote live prices. Udemy and Coursera prices move constantly, and a page full of numbers that were true last quarter is worse than no numbers at all. Instead we describe the pricing model, and we flag where a course is effectively always discounted.
How current this is
The full course list was last reviewed in August 2026. Course contents change, providers retire courses, and community projects change hands, so if you find something here that has gone stale we would rather hear about it than not.
What this site is not
- It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tableau Software or Salesforce.
- It does not sell courses. Every link goes to the provider.
- It does not rank by popularity. Two of the courses we recommend most often are free community projects with no marketing behind them at all.
